Learnership

Financial support for studying CAT

What is the CAT Learnership?

The CAT Learnership is a registered work place programme established by Fasset which is the Seta responsible for the Accounting, Finance and Management sector.

The programme is tailored to CAT/ACCA and is available at each level of your studies.

How can it benefit me or my employer?

Benefit to employer: Each learnership carries with it the following financial benefits:

  • R 55,000 to R 60,000 tax rebate from SARS
  • Skills Development Levy waiver
  • Discretional cash grant from the Seta responsible for the sector in which your company operates

NB. Each of these benefits are awarded to the company per employee or learner registered on the learnership programme.

Benefit to you: These financial grants and subsidies are designed to encourage your employer to provide you with the support you need to complete your studies.

What is the purpose of the Learnership?

Learnerships are a government initiative established by the various Seta's, in order to incentivise South African companies to encourage skills development and education in recognised professional qualifications e.g. CAT or ACCA.

What does it cost?

Nothing. The CAT learnership is open to any employer who submits a Work Skills Plan.
