Getting started

Register as a student

Once you have chosen the ICB programme that is right for you, you have to register with the ICB directly on their Student Portal. Click here to download a guide to using the Student Portal.

(If you are not sure which programme is best for you, or if you need guidance with registering on the ICB's Student Portal, please feel free to contact us on 0861 111 411 or send us an email at info@ibtc.co.za.)

Make a booking with IBTC

Choose your study option and make a booking online by clicking on the Book Now link above. You can also add your annual student registration fee and exam fees to your IBTC booking, and we will pay it over to the ICB on your behalf.

Once you've received your material, we recommend that you read through the text briefly to get a better understanding of the subject before registering for your exam.

Register for your exam

You will be required to register for your exam on the ICB's Student Portal. If you included your annual registration fee and exam fees in your IBTC booking, select 'EFT or other' when presented with payment options. Alternatively, you can pay the ICB directly via credit card, EFT or SnapScan.

Once the ICB has received your payment, they will send you a Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) which has to be completed before you write your final exam. The PoE includes 3 assignments and 2 open-book tests you have to complete to prepare for your final exam.

We recommend that you plan your exams in advance and register for each exam as soon as you can, as this will give you more time to complete your PoE.
