Strategic Case Study : Cape Town
Dynamic, well-rounded Chartered Accountant with specific expertise in the fields of higher education and training, business sustainability, corporate finance, governance, BBBEE and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Powerful communication skills, written and oral, developed through lecturing, conference presentations, preparation of a thesis and corporate finance reports. Primary focuses are to remain relevant as a Chartered Accountant and to give back to the community through this process.
A free-lance financial lecturer and advisor supporting a number of institutions in the delivery and assessment of programmes. Most recently contracted to Mazars to streamline their technical training products, as well as conduct training and assist with the incorporation of e-learning. During 2013 appointed as Support CFO to Northlink College as part of the SAICA’s FETC Project to improve the sector’s finance and governance functions. Ongoing lecturing relationships are maintained with a number of smaller colleges, namely International Business Training College (CIMA training), UNISA and Milpark Education.
Prior to this, seven years was invested in the academic and training environment with UNISA, Rhodes University and UWC as a financial accounting and performance management lecturer, which enhanced learning and assessment skills and facilitated a strong working knowledge of IFRS and performance measures. This was complemented by the completion of a MCom (Accounting) in 2011 titled “Cash flow related indicators of business sustainability”. Prior to that thirteen years experience was gained in corporate finance and investment banking, locally and internationally.
